I am registered foot health practitioner providing quality, mobile footcare. If you have problems with your feet or just find foot care too difficult to do yourself, I offer a range of services to suit.
I also have professional experience with mental health, learning difficulties and gereatric care, so feel free to discuss any specific requirements you or those you care for may have.
I offer essential foot care such as toenail trimming (including thick or fungal nails) and treatment for corns, calluses, dry/cracked heels and verrucas. I also offer medipedi sessions, toenail reconstruction, luxurious warm wax therapy and reflexology as stand alone or as an add-on to standard treatments.
Treatment can either be in the comfort of your own home or at my workshop in South Bristol
Fungal nail infection becomes more common as we get older. It appears as a white or yellow/brown discolouration of the nails.
Treatments vary and options will be discussed with you during a foot care session. Common treatments include a practitioner reducing and treating the infected nail, oral medication from your GP, or over the counter treatments from a pharmacy.
Fungal nail infection (onychomycosis) is the most difficult of the superficial fungal infections to treat. This method involves making micro holes on the nail plate which allows antifungal medicine to reach the point of infection directly under the nail. This allows the nail to grow out naturally.
Warm wax treatment is more than just a luxurious addition to a foot care session. As well as soothing and healing the skin, paraffin treatments have many therapeutic benefits for internal ailments. Warm wax treatments are a truly unique experience: warming, relaxing, softening, hydrating, pampering and luxurious. A ‘facial for feet’.
Warm Wax Therapy has been shown to help conditions such as arthritis and fibromyalgia among others. A wax treatment acts as a type of heat therapy, that helps treat these conditions by increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles and reducing stiffness in joints. It can also help with minimizing muscle spasms and inflammation, and to treat sprains and pulled muscles.
Toenail reconstruction is a cosmetic as well as medical procedure. Toenail reconstruction uses a specialist gel system designed specifically for toenails. It is an extremely elastic UV gel which adapts to the movements of the toe. Its unique adhesive properties mean that good results can even be achieved on calloused layers of skin where there is no toe nail.
Nail reconstruction is not a permanent solution. The length of time that the nail reconstruction lasts will vary from person to person. The new nail will generally last between 4 and 6 weeks after which another nail will need to be re-filled or re-applied.
